SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM CORE REQUIREMENTS:

The Social Work Program provides generalist foundation courses designed for entry level social work practice and to prepare students for graduate and professional schools. Students seeking a degree in Social Work are required to apply for admission to the Social Work Program. Application for admission is made after completion of Introduction to Social Welfare and Community Volunteerism. A major in Social Work consists of thirty-three (33) in class semester credit hours. Three (3) semester hours of Field Seminar and nine (9) semester hours of Social Work Practicum are taken currently. For a minor, the student is required to complete fifteen hours in designated social work courses. The Social Program of Rust College is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) 2000, 2005-2013.
