BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH


From April 1, 1999 through August 2009, Mr. McDonald served as the first Director of Enrollment Services ever in the history of Rust College. He assumes the position again on December 4, 2011. Mr. McDonald is responsible for all areas related to recruitment of students. This effort is implemented through the Office of Financial Aid, Recruiting, Admissions and overall Student Enrollment. These departments are responsible for providing services to currently enrolled students and those students interested in enrolling at Rust College.

During Mr. McDonald’s tenure at Rust College, the number of freshman students has been consistent and has grown to a high level for Rust College. Additionally, new programs such as the Junior Recruiter/Royal Ambassador program have been established. This program engages over 130 of our current students who assist the Enrollment Services area in recruiting new students, conducting campus tours, and promoting Rust College in a positive manner.

Prior to arriving at Rust College Mr. McDonald served as Senior Account Executive at MSI in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1997-1999 (where he received the 1998 Account Executive of the Year award). Mr. McDonald retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Major at Fort McPherson, Georgia in May 1997. He served a total of 23 years, 8 months and 28 days, including three years in the U.S. Marine Corp. Mr. McDonald was branched Airborne Infantry and served his last seven years as a Recruiting Company Commander; three years in Birmingham, Alabama (where his battalion received a Superior Unit Medal from then General Collin Powell, the U.S. Military Joint Chief of Staff), two years as U.S. Army 2nd Recruiting Brigade Operations Officer at Fort Gillian, Georgia. Also, between September 2009 and November 2011, Mr. McDonald served as Director of Marketing and Recruiting for ITT Technical Institute, and Director of Recruiting and Admissions at Alcorn State University.


A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr. McDonald earned a B.S. degree in Sociology from Colorado State University, Pueblo, Colorado; attended the University of Oklahoma for a M.A. in Communications, and earned MBA in Marketing; and in Human Resources from AIU.

He is an active member of the Mississippi Pi Sigma Lambda Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
