- What type of network do we have?
Rust College uses a number of the latest technologies to facilitate connectivity on campus. All buildings are connected to each other using a fiber optic cable backbone, which provides clean and fast transfer of data. Fast and reliable ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) technology allows users to securely talk to each other and use the services offered. Strategically placed labs are located throughout the campus for student use. Every faculty member and most staff have permanent computers on the desktop. Each dorm room allows the student to "plug-in" to the network from the comfort of their own room. Internet and email services are provided on a durable permanent T1 connection to the outside world for research and communication with others in their field of study.
