JUNE 2020 COVID-19 UPDATE
To the Rust College Community:
At this time the Rust College campus remains closed for instruction due to Covid-19. The spring academic semester was successfully completed by online classes and instruction. Online summer school was also completed.
Graduating seniors who have completed all necessary coursework for their degrees will be cleared to graduate and participate in graduation ceremonies. At this time, it has become apparent that we will be unable to safely hold an on campus graduation this summer. It is important that we celebrate the achievements of our 2020 graduates and are therefore currently planning a virtual commencement ceremony. The date will be released shortly but will likely be in mid July. At a later date we want to welcome the 2020 graduates back to the campus to recognize their accomplishments in person.
We are working to determine the best method for resuming instruction in the fall. We are looking at health and safety considerations and guidelines from local, state and federal officials. We anticipate making an announcement very soon on the plan and timelines for the fall.
Our administrative staff continues on duty to serve you by telephone, email, and online gatherings. You may reach staff by calling 662-252-8000 and then dialing their extension number or by dialing “0” and asking the receptionist to connect you. If you are a prospective student for fall enrollment please dial 4059 or send an email to tjefferson@rustcollege.edu.
Federal Coronavirus Stimulus grants to eligible students are being processed and we expect to start mailing out the student stimulus grant checks on June 15. The method for determining amounts according to Department of Education guidelines has been posted on this website.
I am looking forward to meeting each of you in person in the near future. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy!
God bless you,
President Taylor
