Rust College Announces the Addition of Three New Leadership Team Members
Holly Springs, MS – Rust College President Ivy R. Taylor is pleased to announce the addition of three new hires to the Rust College Bearcat team.
Mr. Jarvis Stephen will join the Athletic Department as Director of Athletics. Mr. Stephen returns to Rust College, having graduated in 2001, after receiving the “Kenzell Lawson” Hustle Award his senior season. Prior to returning to Rust, Jarvis gained extensive experience in athletics having worked both as Athletic Director and Head Coach with Shelby County Schools. During his time with SCS, he built several championship winning programs that helped to increase enrollment and drive student athlete success. Mr. Stephen is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
Mr. Marcus “Doc” Holliday will serve as Director of Broadcast Operations. Mr. Holliday comes to Rust College with more than 20 years’ experience in TV and Radio Broadcast News. He most recently served as Sports Director at WANT-TV ABC 24 in Memphis, Tennessee. Marcus is a Fairley High School graduate and holds a B.A. degree in Broadcast Communications from the University of Memphis where he attended on a football scholarship. Shortly thereafter, he played in the National Football League (NFL) for the St. Louis Rams and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Canadian Football League (CFL). Mr. Holliday is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
Mr. Corey Buchanan will serve as Director of Human Resources. Mr. Buchanan joins the Rust College family after having served as a Human Resource Practitioner over the last 18 years. Most recently, Mr.
Buchanan worked for such great organizations as BNSF Railway, Deloitte, and within the manufacturing spaces. He has had the honor of working alongside military attorneys and judges while serving the U.S. Navy, retiring as a U.S. Navy Officer. Mr. Buchanan is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
