The Federal Cares Act provided funds to institutions of higher education for grants to students to defray costs associated with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Every student who was eligible for regular federal financial aid and who was registered as of March 18, 2020 has been awarded a stimulus grant.
The amount of the grant for each student was determined within the regulations and requirements of the Department of Education. Grants to students were made on the following basis:
- Off Campus students not living in the residence halls received $800.00
- On Campus students whose official address on file with the college on March 18, 2020 is within 149 miles of Holly Springs received $930.00.
- On Campus students whose official address on file with the college on March 18, 2020 is 150 miles or more from Holly Springs received $1,050.00.
Students who had requested before June 15 that we hold their grant checks for pick up on campus at the Cashier’s Office can pick up their checks now.
All other grant checks have been mailed to the official address on file with the college as of June 1, 2020.

Any student who feels they were left off the list by mistake or any student who had certain excess expenses may submit an application for additional consideration. The Student Stimulus Grant Program was authorized by Section 18004(e) of the Coronavirus ?Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (‘CARES ACT”), Pub. L. No. 116-136, 134 Stat. 281 (March 27, 2020).
